Show me the Money – New Money Stock Images
I took the time to shoot some money images last week and just submitted them to iStockphoto.com and they were approved this week. I was using a borrowed Nikkor 105mm Macro Lens that was a great lens...fun to work with. Check them out and let me know what you think. I like the first one the best. The others are a little abstract, but they will work for the creative minds looking for something a little different. Interestingly, the first image that was downloaded from my micro stock portfolio at http://www.istockphoto.com/legacyimagesphotography was the second image.
City Skyline Stock Images in Salt Lake City, Phoenix, Boise, and Raleigh
I have a series of images that are quite popular on my iStockphoto.com portfolio. They are a series of city skylines shot when I traveled to various destinations for business. It would seem so simple to shoot a skyline image, but I have found that it is not as simple as it looks. It takes time, planning, research, and the weather has to cooperate as well. [caption id="attachment_199" align="alignleft" width="380" caption="Phoenix, Arizona Skyline Stock Image"][/caption] Say for example, the skyline stock image that I took of Phoenix, Arizona. I don't know if you have been to Phoenix, but it is FLAT. There is ...
iStockphoto.com Dollar Bin
Shooting stock photography is a learning experience, especially as you determine what may sell vs. what won't sell. When I first started to upload images, I went through my hard drive and was looking for shots that I thought were good enough. Now, I want to shoot images for stock that are incredible and have a much better chance of selling a ton. iStockphoto.com has a section of their offerings called the Dollar Bin. It is a selection of images that are moving a little slow for whatever reason and they want to give customers the chance to ...
Pictograph’s & Petroglyph’s Stock Images
I had the opportunity to visit Nine Mile Canyon in Utah. This canyon was the home of the Fremont Indians who lived there up to 8,000 years ago. They left behind a vivid reminder of the lives they lived and the things that they felt were important. They left pictograph's and petroglyph's frequently on the walls throughout the canyon and if you get out and hike, you may find an occasional granary, pit dwelling or Indian village throughout the canyon. [caption id="attachment_273" align="alignright" width="380" caption="Indian Petroglyph Stock Image"][/caption] Pictures of pictograph's and petroglyph's like the Hunter's Panel are a great shot that ...
My First Money Making Image
It was a cold, winter day in February. I was visiting Düsseldorf, Germany for a business meeting and had to stay the weekend. I asked the hotel concierge where the best place to visit was for the short time that I had available. The concierge suggested that I take the short drive (about 30 minutes on the autobahn) down to Köln (Cologne for those who don't speak much German) to visit the Cathedral there. I drove around the city and finally found a parking space close to the city center where the cathedral dominates the landscape. I ...
